Se você está interessado em saber a opinião de alguém que usa tablet pelo motivo qualquer que seja, esse meu primeiro post sobre ilustração será sobre isso. Em primeiro lugar, quero deixar claro que sou um entusiasta em ilustração, passando longe, muito longe, de um ilustrador profissional. Mas acho válido descrever minha experiência sobre o produto pois assim você terá visões diferentes sobre o assunto.

Até um pouco mais do meio do ano passado, eu desenhava somente no papel mas, por motivos de trabalho, comecei a usar a tablet. O modelo que tenho usado desde então é uma Bambo Fun da Wacom. A primeira vez que fiz um desenho nela foi muito natural e logo entendi como funcionava: a tablet mapeava a área da tela do monitor na área de desenho da tablet. Com isso, o ponteiro do mouse vai imediatamente para o ponto da tela onde você parar a caneta na tablet. Adicionando isso ao fator de uma textura áspera da superfície da tablet, ela funciona como desenhar no papel. Ou melhor, quase como desenhar no papel.

O primeiro problema que eu tive desenhando com a tablet, e é algo que você deve se acostumar caso queira usar uma, é o fato que você não vai olhar na tablet quando está desenhando. Isso na verdade não é algo tão ruim, mas as consequências disso que são: não adianta inclinar a tablet que a tela do computador não vai inclinar (é engraçado dizer isso porque é óbvio, mas no papel, pelo menos eu, inclino muito para conseguir linhas com mais precisão, algo que não dá para fazer na tablet). Esse ponto e o fato de que você não terá uma visão do todo quando desenhar, são os pontos negativos que eu tenho sobre a tablet.

Mas no final das contas, tenho que admitir: desenhar no papel é muito melhor. Digo isso porque no papel você consegue resultados melhores com rascunho e, acredito eu, um bom rascunho resulta em uma boa ilustração, independente do tipo de arte finalização que você deseja trabalhar. No papel você consegue ver o erro mais facil, consegue sentir onde deve forçar mais o lápis ou não.

Enfim. Minha opinião final até agora: usar papel para rascunho e a tablet para arte final. Porém, nem sempre. Alguns tipos de ilustração, que não exigem esboço tão detalhado funcionam bem na tablet, outros já não. É difícil categorizar o que funciona melhor na tablet e o que funciona melhor no papel mas, para mim, arte final funciona melhor na tablet uma vez que posso experimentar cores, por exemplo, sem medo de errar. Por via das dúvidas, experimente em uma loja ou na casa de um amigo se você ainda não se sente seguro para comprar uma.

If you are interested to know an oppinion about someone who uses tablet that's the theme of my first post about illustration. But first, I wanted to inform you I'm not a professional illustrator, but just someone who is trying to learn more. Said that, I think is valid to give my opinion about the product in order to you have more mixed opinions about it.

Since middle of last year I've drawn only at paper but for work matters, I started to use a tablet. The model I use since then is a Bamboo Fun - Wacom. The first time I used it, it felt very natural and soon I understood how tablet works: it maps the area of you monitor on the drawing area of the tablet. So if you put the tablet pen at any drawing area point, the mouse pointer goes exactly to the correspondent point of the monitor screen. This factor plus the rough texture of its superfice makes the experience of using table like the same with tradicional way of drawing. Better: almost like the same.

The first problem I have using a tablet is something you must get used if you want to drawing correct with a tablet: you can't take your eyes of monitor while using it. This is not so a big issue but the problems with it are, like, you cant tilt the tablet angle on your desktop because the monitor angle wont tilt too (that's funny to say because is pretty obvious but remember how natural that is while drawing on a real paper). That point plus the fact you can't have the whole picture of what you are drawing (at least if you are not using 2 monitors - one for zoom uses and another just to have a 100% zoom vision), is the negative points I have about tablet.

But at the end I have to admit: drawing at paper is much better. I say that because at paper you can sketch but better and, I believe, a good sketch results in a good final drawing/illustration. And at paper you can see your mistakes better and know what areas you have to put more press of the pencil.

So that's my final opinion so far: use paper for sketch and tablet for final art. But, not always. Some type of illustrations doesnt ask for a sketch so much detailed and that could work on tablet. But for me, final art works great at tablet because you can experiment a lot without worry about mistakes. However, if you are not still sure if you have to grab a tablet or not, try at some shop or from a friend first before buying it.

Já no YouTube, por favor não leve o tão a sério, eu utilzo o site mais como uma forma de entretenimento. Mas peço que veja meu deviantART como uma forma de entender daquilo que eu sou capaz de desenvolver, e que isso não fica limitado somente em ilustrações. At Youtube, however, I ask to not take it too serious since I use that site most for fun. But I ask too to see my deviantART as a way to understand what I'm able to work and it doesnt limit to only illustration.
